Fan Group Programing
Once again MILLENNICON plays host to several Fan Organizations and clubs. Fan organizations from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia will be running their own track of programing at MILLENNICON. The subjects range as wide as their various interests. You're sure to find a favorite subject and plenty of fellow fans to discuss it with you. Each group will have information tables in the atrium where you can learn more about their organizations.

Glad Rags for Small Fry: The kids have the opportunity to design their own cape, suitable for display or derring do.
Starship Publications: Young authors have an opportunity to write, illustrate and print their own comic book story.
Recyclable Rockets: Jr. engineers may build their own rocket ship or flying saucer.
Recommended Reading in Science Fiction for Children: Author Alvin R. Mullin, and Columbus Library Aide, Linda Stoops join Representatives of the Golden Duck Foundation for Excellence in Children's Science Fiction to suggest books your young fen will enjoy. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.
Magic Lessons for Kids: Rob Trimble provides MAGIC© lessons for the younger set wishing to learn how to play the card game sensation. The class is limited to children age 11 and under. Class supplies will be provided compliments of Wizards of the Coast.
Starting Your Weekend At MILLENNICON Station
The convention will open at 3 PM Friday March 21, 1997. Registration will be located at the entrance to the hotel atrium. Gofer volunteers may check in with MILLENNICON Station Security Officer, Lisa Barr in the Atrium Area.
Opening Ceremonies will be at 7:30 PM. Relax with friends and convention participants as you as you enjoy good food and conversation at the Friday evening Leave the Mundane World Behind Reception. The Reception will be held in the Hospitality Suite, conveniently located in the Atrium, beginning at 8:00 PM.
Saturday Buffet Banquet
There will be a All you can eat Buffet Banquet. Saturday at 6 PM in the Station Atrium. Come enjoy a delightful meal with friends old and new and stay to listen to Toastmaster Jim Overmeyer, the Guest of Honor Speech, awards presentation and prize drawings. Ticket prices include tax, and gratuity. Adults are $20 and children under 12 are $10. Contact Julie Hanslip 937-268-7225 for information.

Book Drive Raffle:
We will host a Book Drive at the convention. Attendees who bring a book will get a ticket to a raffle. The winner will win a copy of The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Science Fiction by John Clute. Books must be in good condition, suitable for a library, on the subjects: science fiction, science, space studies, math and reading essentials. These books will be donated to Jr. High and high school school libraries, community libraries, civic centers, clubs for boys and girls, hospitals, science and space study centers and literacy programs. Many of these groups have limited funding and the donated books would help bolster their selections.
Benefit Auction:
There will be a benefit auction to raise funds to further the activities of Miami Valley Fandom for Literacy. Local educational, literacy, space and science programs, school libraries will benefit. Contributions are tax deductible. We are a non-profit organization.Items to be donated for auction are still needed.
